North Shore Newsgerry Yasui is a first generation Japanese American living in Hawaii. He was born in Osaka in 1972. After graduating from Osaka Institute of Technology High School and Kyoto Polytechnic College, he worked as an engineer for JAL and started making Wood Cutlery in 2011. In 2015, gerry left the company and moved to Hawaii when he became a permanent resident of the United States. He founded Hana lima cutlery & accessory, Hawaii LLC, where gerry works as an Owner, Craftsman & Artist.
