Members of the WHS Band along with parents, chaperones, and Band Director Ian Cablay embarked on an exciting tour of Japan. This trip was a culminating experience to celebrate the musical journey of Japanese music and culture that the band explored this year. Starting in Osaka and ending in Tokyo, we soaked in all that we could during our tour: eating, shopping, visiting beautiful landmarks and eating & shopping some more! We fed the deer in Nara, visited the Nagoya Science and Toyota Automobile Museums, rode the Shinkansen 3 times, attended a concert at Suntory Hall, went to Tokyo Disney Sea and more. The band visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial to present 1,000 paper cranes (folded by the students) to the Sadako Memorial. The action-packed trip was an amazing adventure that would not have been possible without all of the support from our North Shore Community. Arigato gozaimasu from the Waialua High School Band!
