Since 2004, the North Shore News has partnered with Once A Month Church in their annual community outreach programs - Operation: Backpack, Operation: Aloha, and Operation: ToyBox & Christmas Cheer.

The North Shore News also co-sponsors the North Shore Food Bank distribution every 3rd Wednesday of the month and the North Shore Service Center every 4th Wednesday of the month.

The Once A Month Church was founded in 2004 by Pastor Ron Valenciana, the former editor of the North Shore News. Following his passing in 2012, the torch was passed to the current North Shore News editor and Once A Month Church assistant director, Linda Seyler.
