AES Na Pua Makani Donates 1,800 Face Masks to North Shore Community

At the end of April, AES Na Pua Makani purchased and distributed 1,800 KN-95 face masks to the communities of Kahuku, La‘ie and Hau‘ula. Face masks were handed out at a weekly drive-up food distribution event held at the Courtyard by Marriott O‘ahu North Shore. Team members also continue to deliver masks to North Shore first responders, school cafeteria workers and kupuna.

“We are deeply committed to being good neighbors to the North Shore community,” said Verla Moore, community liaison for AES Na Pua Makani. “When we heard from residents that there is an immediate need for face masks – especially for the hard-working men and women in our school cafeterias who prepare and distribute meals daily to our students – we were happy to answer the call.”

AES Na Pua Makani, which is slated to be operational this summer, remains dedicated to supporting the North Shore community in meaningful ways including pledging more than $4 million over the life of the project to benefit nonprofit organizations and initiatives in the area.
