The Aloha Freight Pipeline Bodyboarding Championships concluded with world-class bodyboarding at Banzai Pipeline, crowning champions in the Men’s Open Pro (see page 16), Women’s Open Pro, Junior Men’s, and Junior Women’s divisions. With 6-8 ft waves and improving conditions, the finals saw epic battles and history-making performances from some of the best riders in the world.

Ayaka Suzuki Crilley (Japan) was in dominant form all day, winning every heat on her way to the final. She opened with a huge 8.67, landing a massive outside roll, and never looked back. Terisa Miranda (Canary Islands) pushed hard but couldn’t close the gap, while Valentina Diaz London (Chile) rounded out the podium.

The Junior Men’s final was an intense showdown between Michael Yannce (Peru) and Tayden Salinas (Hawai‘i), with Yannce clinching the victory on his final wave. Hawai‘i’s Nash Brurkart and Koa Chambers also put on solid performances in the highly competitive heat.

Defending 2023 Junior Women’s World Champion Aarya Tabalno (Hawai’i) put on a dominant performance, running away with the title and finishing with a 13.17 total heat score. Sarai Akiona (Japan) took second place, while Kaipoi Koa (Hawai‘i) claimed third in a stacked final.
