Mark's love for our island and people are evident in his paintings - a majority of which were done on site outdoors (Plein Air). These 3 to 7 hours sessions produced artwork that Mark exhibits in many galleries throughout the islands. Born and raised in Hawaii, Mark has been mentored by friends on the fine and commercial side of Art, and one influence has been to attend weekly life drawing sessions which keeps his drawing and painting skills sharpened. In addition to art galleries, murals and commissions, Mark has been teaching a weekly Plein Air class every Saturday since 2000, starting as an instructor with the UofH at Manoa Outreach College.
Mark has been in Haleiwa Arts Festival since the year 2000 - and pleased that he has been the Featured Poster Artist in years 2002, 2011, and again this year.
