North Shore NewsKahuku Medical Center (KMC) announced today that it has selected Alan MacPhee as the chief executive officer (CEO). MacPhee has held chief executive and chief financial officer positions in various critical access hospitals since 1998, most recently as CEO of John C. Fremont Health District Hospital in Mariposa, CA, and prior to that as chief financial officer of Corcoran District Hospital in Corcoran, CA.
“We are extraordinarily pleased that Alan MacPhee is joining Kahuku Medical Center and our Ko‘olauloa community. He brings 31 years of healthcare administrative experience in large tertiary and small rural critical access hospitals, as well as a dedication to increasing the community’s overall health,” said Lance Segawa, chair of KMC’s Board of Directors.
“I am eager to begin working with everyone at Kahuku Medical Center and the surrounding community,” notes MacPhee. “I am very impressed with the high quality of the staff and all the modern initiatives undertaken at the center over the last several years.”
MacPhee has worked in critical access care hospitals ranging from a 344-bed urban facility to a 12-bed rural facility. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire and holds a Certificate in Managed Care from Healthcare Financial Management Association.
He has been married to his wife Gayle, for 32 years and the couple has four children and grandchildren.
Kahuku Medical Center (KMC), an affiliate of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, is the only inpatient, outpatient hospital on the North Shore of Oahu, serving communities from Kualoa to Waimea (Ko‘olauloa).
