We are eternally grateful to this community for helping us find our dad, Bob Walker. Life would be so much more difficult if we had to move on without knowing what happened to him. After a month-long search, Bob was found on June 14th in the Pūpūkea-Paumalu trail system. We would not have found him without all of you and the amazing (and huge) team of people that helped make things happen and kept us going. This was 100% a community effort which included hundreds of field and behind-the-scenes volunteers.
We are missing our dad and grieving our loss but trying to focus on all the positives. Bob spread joy and brought people together his whole life. He lived a life of serving and helping others he was a pastor, an Army service member, a regular visitor to nursing homes, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a coach for our sports teams, and a proud and loving father and grandfather.
In a time with much uncertainty, Bob brought people together, again, in fellowship. It seems to have been his lifetime gift. Many friends and community members throughout the search said they were personally uplifted by either volunteering or seeing the community come together, especially during such a difficult time. These stories would have filled Pops up with so much love and joy and floated him straight up to Heaven. We are forever grateful for all the support to help us find him.
