The idea for envision.design.build LLC began with friends encouraging owners Gazelle Garner and Parker Beck to start their own design-build company. “I’ve been doing architectural design work for well over a decade, and Parker has been in construction for just as long…Our combined 25 years of experience in the fields of design, permitting and construction makes us a great resource for anyone looking to renovate their home,” shares Gazelle.
In 2008, Gazelle and Parker were each working at their own businesses when they got the opportunity to collaborate on a full house remodel for the same client: “The clients first hired Gazelle to develop the plans for their dream home, and I was later awarded the contract to do the construction,” says Parker Beck, who heads up the construction side of their business.
“It took 9 years of planning and discussions before we finally decided to join forces,” says Gazelle.
Finally, in 2017, envision.design.build LLC was launched.
“Being able to provide both the initial design phase as well as the construction means we don’t run into some of the communication break-downs that can sometimes happen when the person who developed the design isn’t interfacing with the person building it,” says Parker.
Gazelle works with their clients to re-shape and re-envision their home, as well as helping them navigate the sometimes difficult permitting process with the City and County. When it comes time to handing off the plans to Parker, he is already wellversed in the scope of the project, budget, timeline, and has mobilized the trades needed to move the project into the construction phase. Parker also provides custom touches for their clients by occasionally fabricating one-of-a-kind pieces for their projects. They’ve worked on projects island-wide and on Maui and Lanai, and are focused on developing their business on the North Shore, which has been their home for the last five years.
